The Apex 2 exists so that people can keep doing physical work without it costing them their back. A site selling that should not be difficult to use. We are aiming at WCAG 2.1 level AA.

What is in place

  • A skip-to-content link as the first item in the tab order.
  • Every image carries alternative text, and decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
  • Visible focus outlines on every interactive element.
  • Motion is optional. If your system is set to reduce motion, the preloader, the hero entrance and its load cycle, smooth scrolling and every looping video are all switched off, and nothing stays hidden behind an animation that did not play.
  • Body text is measured at roughly 6.9:1 against the background, above the 4.5:1 AA threshold.
  • The menu reports whether it is open, and closes on Escape.
  • The site works without JavaScript: content is revealed rather than hidden, and forms still submit.

Known gaps

We would rather name these than let you find them.

  • The site has not yet been tested end to end with a screen reader by a person who uses one daily.
  • Text sitting over photographs has been checked by eye, not measured. Flat color pairs have been measured.
  • The testimonials video has no captions or transcript yet. This is the gap we are most keen to close.
